I have decided that every day after school I will be practicing wushu in accordance with doing Wushu at night too. It will be getting colder so i cant really practice outside as much now so in response to the weather i will move inside to a bigger place or practice in my room. Anyone who wishes to join me during the day, feel free to do so, let me know. If you are curious as to what Shaolin Wushu is, then take a look. waydragon.com/kungfu.html Thanks, Steve

Awesome. I've taken karate for about 12 years now. Took one year of Chi Lin kung fu. I'm thinking about taking some new Kung Fu though.

cool man, I'm a new comer to martial arts but im more than willing to learn any styles i could get as long as it isnt so many that i can't practice them all. I've recently been studying up on this intense and awesome form called Kathinayoga Kalarippayattu which originates from India.
I doubt i'd ever be able to learn it since i dont think anywhere in the US would teach it and plus to fully comprehend the style would in itself take 12 years. However, in those 12 years the student would master: - Empty Hand Fighting - Grappling - Traditional Weapons (Spear, Sword, Short Stick, Long Staff, Dagger) - Being An Expert Masseur - Traditional Ayurvedic/Marma (pressure point) Treatment - Vedic Tradition of India. - Pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and yoga (not like YMCA style but hardcore awesome style)
I guess i can find someway to take a smaller scale or something of that style once i am familiar enough with shaolin wushu to add on another style.

But when are you going to need that? i guess the better question is, what would make you want to do that?

um to gain complete control over all my bodies motions, to achieve perfect focus and balance and aim. Im not taking it because it is necessarily required but im taking it becuase itll better myself physically and mentaly.
One could say that martial arts are stupid i could just pull a gun. Ok, first, you (not you personally Liam) probably dont have a gun along with many, many other people in this continent. Second, if you pulled out something like a knife, you learn how to fend off and/or disable an opponent that would attack you with one. Third, why would you not want to learn and master a form of martial arts? I mean what am I and millions of other people like me going to do in my free time?
Besides you learn so much stuff to and you meet and work with a lot of awesome people too, plus you get to learn how to crack joints, crack the sternum, pull out a trachia or lung in one hand motion (even though geoff taught me that) and put full body momentum into sparring so how is that not cool? Oh yeah and itll only make your body stronger, more flexible, and keep you in much better shape throughout life.
I appreciate you not being a dick about it and if y ou are acually ever interested, even though im sure you wont be, id be happy to teach you what i know as long as you dont do it to make a mockery out of it.

It does teach you alot of self control and helps improve your health. And either way, even if you wont use it, it's awesome to say you know how to use a sword or say that you can kill someone with your bare hands.
